Best Production Management Software (2026): 10 Tools
The best production management software for 2026 by situation: scripted work, call sheet software, budgets, DIY, and teams running many productions.
The best production management software depends on where your work starts. From a script: StudioBinder or Studiovity. Only the call sheets are a mess: SetHero. Commercials, music videos, brand content, photo shoots or events, where the pitch, the budget, the crew and the client all have to line up: CreativeBase.
In short: Pick by the job that hurts most. Scripts point to StudioBinder, Studiovity or Celtx. Call sheets to SetHero. Budgets with accounting sync to Saturation. Running every production and the money behind them in one place points to CreativeBase.
Below: the right pick for each situation, then ten tools, with prices checked on each vendor's own site on October 3, 2026.

How we judged
We make CreativeBase. That is a conflict of interest, so here is how we kept this fair.
- Every competitor fact comes from the competitor's own website, read on October 3, 2026, and linked. Where a page did not mention a feature, we say "not listed" rather than "no".
- We judged for commercials, music videos, brand content, photo shoots and events, made by anyone from a director running their own jobs to a company running many at once.
- We scored six things: winning the work, call sheets and crew, budget and client money, creative prep and post, photo support, and cost as the company grows.
- We name where CreativeBase loses: no script tools, no storyboards, no e-signature, no online client payments, no accounting sync.
Production manager software for many productions
CreativeBase
One base for the whole production, for every production at once.
- Win the work. Pipelines with win probability and a forecast. A pitch page with the treatment and up to three price options; the client approves one and it moves to Won. Or drop in the client's brief and Grizzo fills in the new production for you to confirm.
- Budget to invoice. AICP-style, photo (with usage), event, photo-and-video, or your own spreadsheet. The client quote comes from it, change orders are approved before the extra day, and the invoice uses the same numbers.
- Crew. The Crew tab shows priced roles nobody holds yet. Crew calls, availability checks, and Message crew with video calls that arrive as calendar invites. A Crew Pass collects each person's invoice and a W-9 signed in the browser.
- The shoot. Call sheets with weather, sunrise, the nearest hospital and each person's own call time. Shot lists import from Excel or Google Sheets.
- The client. One portal link: what is waiting on them, the quote, changes, cuts, photos and invoices, every sign-off recorded.
- The company. Finance, client and team reports, messages, tasks, a Google-synced calendar, a crew book, and Grizzo, which drafts your follow-up emails for you to review and send.
- Limits. No script breakdown or storyboards, no payroll, no e-signature, no online client payments, no phone app for producers, US-centric tax paperwork.
Price: one plan, priced on a short call. Invited people use it free. After the demo, your first production can be free, with no end date.
Yamdu Studio, if the productions are scripted
Yamdu lists script import and breakdown, scheduling, call sheets, budgeting, cast and crew, shot lists and storyboards, time cards, and iOS and Android apps. Studio is $199 a month billed annually for 10 users and unlimited projects. Flex is $45 a month for 1 user and 1 project (extra projects $45, extra users $22), which adds up fast across many short jobs.
Scripted film and TV
StudioBinder
Its pricing page lists screenplays, AV scripts, script breakdowns, stripboards, shot lists, storyboards, lookbooks, call sheets with tracking and analytics, task boards, calendars, a CRM and location management. Plans: Free, Starter $29 a month (1 user), Indie $49 (2 users), Professional $99 (4 users), Agency $199 (10 users), Studio $299 (20 users). Yearly saves 15%. No free trial, and its help center says there is no dedicated iOS or Android app.
Pick it if you break down scripts and storyboard. Skip it if you need quotes and invoices; its plans do not list them. Full detail: CreativeBase vs StudioBinder.
Studiovity
Studiovity lists AI screenwriting, storyboarding and script breakdown, scheduling, a call sheet generator, budgeting, shot lists, day out of days and apps on iOS, Android and web, for $30 a month billed monthly with 2 team members.
Pick it if you want StudioBinder's scope for less, with native apps. Skip it if your jobs have no script and you need client quotes.
Celtx
Celtx is screenwriting first. Production tools (breakdown, cast and crew, schedule, budget, call sheets, reports) come with Team, $44.99 a month billed yearly for up to 3 members, or as an add-on to Writer Pro ($18.74 a month billed yearly). Free plan with one project, 7-day trial of paid features.
Call sheet software and other single jobs
SetHero, for call sheets
SetHero's site lists a call sheet builder, publishing and tracking by text and email, contact management, production reports and a Movie Magic Scheduling export. Pricing, selector at 5 projects a year: Starter $19 a month, Pro $49, Studio $129. First project free. No shot lists, storyboards or scripts, and it says so. More in SetHero alternatives.
Saturation, for budgets and actuals
Saturation offers AICP, film and TV templates, fringes, contingency, actualizing, cost reports, purchase orders, QuickBooks sync, Plaid bank sync and an iOS receipt app. Creator is free for 1 project; Pro $40 a month ($32 yearly); Team $99 ($79 yearly) with 3 seats. 14-day trial. It does not list call sheets. More in Saturation alternative.
Assemble, for agency coordination and review
Assemble offers a timeline, tasks, collaborative documents and asset feedback with annotations and versions, with free unlimited guests. Plan cards show Starter $5 and Pro $10 per teammate a month; the comparison table on the same page shows $20 and $30, so confirm at checkout. Call sheets are a document template.
Build it yourself
Notion templates
Notion has a call sheet template and a film production template. Pricing: Free, Plus $12 per member a month ($10 yearly), Business $24 ($20 yearly). The cost is your time: nothing sends per-person call times or turns a budget into a quote unless you build it.
Airtable templates
Airtable has a digital video production template and a film budget template. Pricing: Free (up to 5 editors, 1,000 records per base) and Team at $20 per seat a month billed annually. Good for custom trackers, not paperwork that works on day one.
Pick CreativeBase if
- You run commercials, music videos, brand content, photo shoots or events
- The budget, quote, change orders and invoice should be one set of numbers
- You want crew booked, briefed and paperworked from one place
- You run several productions at once with a team
Pick something else if
- You break down screenplays: StudioBinder, Studiovity or Yamdu
- Call sheets are the only problem: SetHero
- Accounting sync matters most: Saturation
- You enjoy building systems more than running shoots: Notion or Airtable
Two tools is common. SetHero plus Saturation gives specialist call sheets and budgeting, from $59 a month at the entry plans above. A script-heavy company can pair StudioBinder for the screenplay with CreativeBase for the money, crew and client. If one tool covers 90% of your jobs, the second is usually not worth it.
